I read a fascinating post at Mission to Learn this morning, about a conference in Washington DC (site of Snowmageddon) which was cancelled.  Or not.  The organizaers/participants decided that they would hold it anyway and go out on a limb and try some new ways of “unconferencing”.

It made me stop and think.  What if…

  • we cancelled all formal training in our organizations and asked the participants to figure out how to fill the gap (an action learning project that I’d love to organize!).
  • we started each workshop with no agenda, but a whiteboard and the question “what if…”
  • organizational leaders picked an idea and just let the person run with it?
  • we used an external event as inspiration (like Snowmageddon or the winter olympics) to do things differently

What’s your ‘what if…’?
